Black Lives Matter Protesters gather to oppose decision of Hillingdon Council

On Sunday 2nd August, dozens of people gathered on the forecourt of Hillingdon Civic Centre to protest the decision of Hillingdon Council to not reinstate Black History Month.
At the protest, Ali Milani, a Labour Councillor for the Heathrow Villages, Hillingdon Conservative’s choice to vote down Black History Month as ‘an utter embarrassment’. He said he ‘was ashamed to sit, virtually, in the same chamber as people who choose to vote down a motion that is unconventional, even among Tory Councils’.
The atmosphere was calm and friendly, and load chants front h e crowd ensured that opposition to this decision by the local Council was heard far and wide.
